life by design HOME has been so easy to work with through a kitchen remodel, a master bath remodel and most recently a full main floor update project.  I am amazed how Tracy can visualize an end result for our space and then carry that vision to reality and deliver beyond our expectations. Tracy's experience and her eye for design has transformed our home.  We are excited to start the next phase of our remodel project with Tracy!

In 2017 Tracy provided an interior “refresh” to our home. I needed updates without busting walls or our budget! Tracy took time to understand our imperatives, dreams, and present and future needs. The makeover was spectacular – fresh paint, smartly designed cabinetry, countertops, flooring, trim and doors, furniture layout and amazing fabric selections made our home modern and new again. We loved it! The process and results could have been featured on HGTV!

Tracy is well-connected and respected in the industry – which meant we did not need to concern ourselves with finding the right professionals to complete a job well-done – she organized and arranged everything to perfection.

Fast-forward 2021… after many life changes, including an “empty nest”, we decided to embark upon a life goal of building our dream home. Before considering a neighborhood, a builder, or even a home design, Tracy was our first call. After an initial consultation, sound recommendations, research, and advice, we purchased a lot and contracted with an amazing builder – a HUGE shout-out to R. Smith Construction, Inc. (Ryan Smith and his team are hands-down second to none in the industry – we couldn’t have asked for a better experience or quality home). Tracy closely collaborated with Ryan and his team, from start to finish clearing barriers, being unafraid to inspire, and designed a home with a bold exterior, organically artful interior, strategic space plan, and modern function. Just as she had done in 2017, Tracy eclipsed anything we could have ever envisioned on our own, by leaps and bounds.

Tracy’s professional tenure includes over 30 years in commercial, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, business, and residential design with extensive experience in kitchen and bath design. In this industry and particularly in this area, her knowledge and skills are hard to surpass. In addition to Tracy’s forward-thinking solutions and customer advocacy, she resonates positivity, is so fun, has endless spunk and a great sense of humor. She puts on no airs nor upsells products to benefit her bottom line, which truthfully was a concern of ours.

We were clients on a budget, and she accommodated without judgement and within our means – which sometimes required out-of-the-box thinking and creative repurposing.

To end… choosing to hire a professional designer provides a level of creativity and customization which simply cannot be achieved with a DIY approach. We hire tax preparers, financial planners, wedding consultants and real estate agents to name a few – why wouldn’t we hire someone to ensure one of our largest investments is designed to pay both lifestyle and financial dividends? EPILOGUE… in 2017, hiring Tracy took convincing my husband that my extra X chromosome was not for “tasteful design”. Fast-forward 2024… he recently hired Tracy to help with redesigning a shipping/receiving office and employee break room at his place of employment

life by design HOME assisted us in three major projects in two of our homes.  Tracy was very knowledgeable and easy to work with, bringing different ideas to the projects which enhanced the design. 

We redid the kitchen in our guest house and took an old space and made it more functional.  Tracy knocked it out of the park!

Our next project was to completely redo our master closet, master bath and a kitchenette in our main house.  We had previously had a stock closet design.  Tracy designed a custom configuration using walnut that is the envy of everyone who sees the closet.  We upgraded the master bath to coordinate with the closet.  Tracy assisted us to pick out the right tile and vanities to make the rooms work together. 

Our last project was the biggest, renovating our entire downstairs.  Tracy has a great ability to understand and see our vision.   When we couldn’t be in the same room, Tracy would work remotely with us online to go through our design and tweak the layout. 

Tracy is a joy to work with and she has fabulous ideas to enhance every space!
